Legal Advice

The CEO of T.L.C. Professional Services is a New York State licensed attorney, with experience merging the fields of law with those of private educational settings, employment protocols, and regulatory compliance. From minor questions to substantial concerns, we offer legal assistance that comes with a “boots on the ground” frame of reference.

Planning Ahead:
Whether it is proactive training on a topic of concern, or revamping policies and procedures to avoid potential issues, we can help you, and your program, take the initiative to establish a position of strength from which to provide service. Some topics with which we assist:
-
personnel policies and procedures
-
drafting family handbooks
-
creating and/or aligning staff handbooks
-
regulation compliance protocols
-
business "health and welfare" checks

Urgent Needs:
While we are happy to schedule project-based legal assistance in advance, we understand that the nature of being an early childcare provider means each day is different, with its own rewards and challenges. If those challenges result in the need for advice from a legal professional with an understanding of what you are experiencing, TLC is here to assist you.

Coaching & Consulting

Did you know that the hours spent working one-on-one with a NYS Credentialed Coach can be used toward your O.C.F.S. 15 hour licensing requirement? Take advantage of the benefits of individualized coaching, and put your time to optimal use.
Coaching Details:
Coaching schedules can be based around your availability, and session hours can take multiple forms. Certificates will be issued upon the completion of coaching cycles, in compliance with the NYS Office of Children & Family Services' professional development training regulations.

Coaching goals can be derived from a variety of sources, depending on your needs. Do you have a Professional Evaluation with a required improvement goal to work on before your next evaluation date? Did someone complete a Fidelity Checklist on your practices and related progress now needs to be demonstrated? Did you engage in self-reflection using the New York State Core Body of Knowledge and now want to make strides in your areas of opportunity? These tools can all serve as a basis for coaching goals, as can your own desires for self-improvement.

Consultations & Assistance:
T.L.C. Professional Services also offers on site consultations and/or technical assistance to all Early Childhood Programs to explore programmatic enhancements, support during administrative changes, or advise in addressing any concerns you may have. We can also arrange to serve as a temporary associate during a time of transition or particularly high volume activity.
Who Can Benefit:
The array of coaching and consulting services offered creates suitable options for teaching staff who may be new to the field, as well as seasoned administrators. We all need to "pick someone's brain" from time to time, and we can all find areas upon which we can improve. Let us customize a package that works for you.
